"net neutrality"
CIT173
"Network neutrality (also net neutrality, Internet neutrality) is a principle proposed for user access networks participating in the Internet that advocates no restrictions by Internet Service Providers or governments on content, sites, or platforms, on the kinds of equipment that may be attached, and on the modes of communication allowed, as well as communication that is not unreasonably degraded by other traffic. The principle states that if a given user pays for a certain level of Internet access, and another user pays for the same level of access, that the two users should be able to connect to each other at the subscribed level of access.Though the term did not enter popular use until several years later, since the early 2000s advocates of net neutrality and associated rules have raised concerns about the ability of broadband providers to use their last mile infrastructure to block Internet applications and content (e.g. websites, services, protocols), particularly those of competitors. In the US particularly, but elsewhere as well, the possibility of regulations designed to mandate the neutrality of the Internet has been subject to fierce debate." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_neutrality
Well that is what the Great Wiki has to say about net neutrality. Basically saying that if one person pays one price for a service, another person pays the same and everyone can connect with each other all at the same cost. But yeah right!! we are talking about the Fat Cats money here. So Regulation practices became hot topics of concern. Who is sleeping with who and for what?
What I have to say is something of just plain hatred that in a Linux or basic computer technology class I have to keep on learning about legal shit, when I wanted to pay for computer and neat gadget and gizmo crap to learn and discuss about. Instead I am left wondering whether or not I somehow glitched into the Legal courses. But like all god damn fucking laws and rules of form it gets all mixed up and re-interpreted to mean what ever the one with the most power and money would want it to say.
"Last week, a United States court of appeals issued a ruling blocking the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) attempts to prevent internet service providers from restricting access to content, applications and services offered by competitors. Now, a group of journalist is pushing back, urging the FCC to reclaim its right to regulate broadband networks. The FCC defended today its right to censure Comcast for blocking P2P files on its cable network, arguing in a court filing that it has general jurisdiction over all interstate communications by radio and wire — including the company’s cable modem service. The claim came in response to Comcast’s appeal last month regarding the FCC’s August 2008 decision that ordered the cable provider to stop blocking P2P files and to amend its network management techniques. Comcast argued that the FCC had no jurisdiction to enforce the principles of net neutrality."http://arstechnica.com/old/content/2008/02/comcast-and-net-neutrality-advocates-clash-at-fcc-hearing.ars
Of Course Obama has something to say about this crap.....
Don't Worry the clip is shorter than this shitty Blog I am giving birth to tonight..
Here are some FCC .Pdf Documents I found around the web.

The only reason I care about "net neutrality" is when I get the Sprint or Verizon or what ever their name is to give me that 4G anywhere wireless and I dump the AT&T monopoly and just Wifi my way with Skype internet phone and some basic free lite program for my text messages on my Apple iPhone. Just a little Phracking going down.

See the FCC and Comcast needs to look more at the Hackers and Phrackers still out there, remembering when Ma Bell was the enemy a decade or more ago. ( oh!! Yeah FCC and corporate folks you guys have not totally censored all the copies of the Anarchist Cook Book yet...) Anyway I agree with Obama on this one, with the whole preserving of our internet traffic Privacy. I get stuff sent from my brothers and sisters still serving over there that are for privileged eyes only. A civilian would not see humor or courage and pride drawn from these web episodes. I miss it over there a lot. (Don't tell my wife. She would try to have me go to the crazy hospital). So lets just leave it as I watch a lot of Porn and don't want my Momma catching me, Or the government for that matter knowing my viewings and reading.
But, for once, I agree with the government, the FCC at least, that internet providers should not be allowed to say what I can and can't use on the internet. We don't live in freaking China and if I want to watch orangutans flinging poo at 3 girls getting it on with each other, I don't want any company or group to block me.
